Pratyush Mohapatra has recently published a checklist of scorpion taxa in India. Currently, 153 species belonging to six families namely Buthidae, Chaerilidae, Hormuridae, Scorpiopidae, Scorpionidae and Rugodentidae and 30 genera have been reported from the Indian subcontinent.
